This application aims to show the correspondence between hieroglyphs carved on Egyptian monuments and fast writing on papyrus by scribes.
Hieratic is a cursing writing system used by scribes in the antic Egypt. It was a way to simplify hieroglyphs and quickly write on papyrus. This simplified writing can be variable according to the scribes who write more or less rapidly with their own style. This is why there are many variations of the same writing hieroglyph.
Hieratic signs correspond exactly to the Hieroglyphic signs. The same rules of spelling and arrangement of signs applies to Hieratic as to Hieroglyphic.
All hieroglyphics may not have their equivalent in hieratic, and there are many simplifications to ligate several hieroglyphs.
